My WikiHow Expert Guides: Web Design, Logo Creation & Freelancing Tips for Creatives

If you told me 10 years ago that my experienced design voice would be featured on WikiHow, I would have been speechless. What started as an exciting opportunity in 2024 has grown into another feature in 2025, and it still feels surreal. Over the past two years, working with WikiHow has been both humbling and empowering. It’s a platform that reaches millions of readers worldwide, and being able to contribute my insights as a creative professional has been an incredible honor. Every moment has reminded me how much persistence, storytelling, and authenticity can open doors you never imagined. I’m excited to share what this milestone means to me and how this journey with WikiHow came to life.

Why This Feature Matters

This opportunity matters to me because it aligns perfectly with my mission as a creative: to amplify underrepresented voices and make design knowledge accessible to everyone. When I first started, I didn’t have a roadmap, mentors, or free resources that broke things down in a way that felt easy to follow. Being able to contribute to WikiHow means I get to be that resource for someone else who’s just starting.

It’s also a reminder of how far I’ve come. Over the past two years, I’ve not only grown my design agency, Sunni Aesthetics, and launched The Four Percent Amplified podcast, but I’ve also leaned into roles where I can teach, guide, and empower other creatives. Sharing my expertise on WikiHow means that the tips, tools, and insights I’ve gained can reach millions of people who are dreaming of starting something, whether that’s a website, a logo, or a freelance career.

I believe that when people are equipped with knowledge, they can build their opportunities. This is why I take these expert guides seriously; they’re not just how-to articles, they’re stepping stones for someone’s career, passion, or future.

wikihow Guide: How to Make a Website

A professional website is often the first impression people have of your brand. In this guide, I walk through how to build a site that’s both visually appealing and user-friendly. I provide a step-by-step breakdown of:

  • Selecting the right website platform (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc.).

  • Organizing your content with a clear structure and layout.

  • Incorporating branding elements like colors, fonts, and imagery.

  • Optimizing your site for mobile, accessibility, and a seamless user experience.

wikihow Guide: How to Design a Logo

A logo is the face of your brand; it tells your story at a glance. In this guide, I break down how to create a logo that’s simple, memorable, and powerful. I share my process for brainstorming ideas, sketching concepts, and refining designs into professional-quality logos. This includes:

  • Choosing the right colors and fonts that match your brand identity.

  • Understanding design principles like balance, contrast, and scalability.

  • Creating logos that work across different platforms and mediums.

  • Tips for using tools like Adobe Illustrator to bring your concept to life.

wikihow Guide: How to Make a Portfolio

Your portfolio is your visual resume, it’s often the first thing clients or employers look at when deciding whether to work with you. In this guide, I share how to build a portfolio that not only showcases your best work but also tells your story as a designer.

I break down the process into practical steps, including:

  • Selecting your strongest projects and curating them to highlight your range of skills.

  • Writing short case studies to explain your design process, problem-solving approach, and results.

  • Designing a clean and user-friendly layout that makes your work stand out, not the template.

  • Optimizing your portfolio for different audiences (freelance clients, agencies, or full-time roles).

  • Keeping your portfolio updated to reflect your current style, skills, and accomplishments.

This guide is perfect for anyone creating their first portfolio or refreshing an outdated one to better represent their personal brand.

wikihow Guide: How to Start Freelancing

Freelancing can be both empowering and overwhelming when you’re just getting started. In this guide, I share everything I wish I knew when I started freelancing, from building your portfolio and finding your first clients to setting your rates and protecting your time with proper contracts. I emphasize the importance of treating freelancing as a business by:

  • Setting clear expectations and boundaries with clients.

  • Learning how to confidently price your services.

  • Using contracts to ensure you’re paid fairly and on time.

  • Building long-term relationships with clients instead of one-off projects.

Closing Thoughts

By sharing my expertise through these guides, I’ve had the chance to help designers, entrepreneurs, and creatives of all levels take that first step with confidence. Whether it’s teaching someone how to create their first website, design a logo, or start freelancing, these resources are meant to break down big, intimidating goals into something approachable and achievable.

I believe that everyone deserves access to the tools and guidance they need to bring their ideas to life, and being part of this platform allows me to reach people I may never meet but can still inspire.
